Benjamin Caplan, MD, is one of the foremost doctors in the pioneering field of Cannabis Medicine. As a licensed, board-certified Doctor of Family Medicine, Dr. Caplan was classically trained and for the past two decades has applied rigorous, evidence-based standards and scientific tools to his private practice dedicated to the treatment of medical cannabis patients. Focused on research involving patient care and the development of new formulations, Dr. Caplan has developed a better understanding of the nuances of cannabis medicine, and shares this knowledge through his clinical practice and through his work with startup business, across the medical landscape. He has also served as Principal Investigator for multiple pharmaceutical research studies, and has published in leading medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. His clinical research continues as he monitors the therapeutic benefits of medical cannabis to an increasing population of patients, across the United States and abroad.Dr. Caplan is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of CED Clinic and EO Care, Inc, the two industry-leading patient care and digital education organizations. CED Clinic was founded in 2017 to provide medical services and oversight to individuals seeking cannabis treatment, which had just been legalized in Massachusetts. CED Clinic is now the state’s premier medical cannabis clinic for both adult and pediatric patients, and the source of his unparalleled longitudinal data spotlighting real world patient care outcomes. To date, approximately 18,000 patients have received medical care through CED clinics in Massachusetts (Chestnut Hill, Northampton, Pittsfield, Needham, and Springfield) and Florida (Miami, Ft Lauderdale), as well as an expanding international footprint.” Prior to founding CED Clinic, Dr Caplan oversaw the clinical care of tens of thousands of patients, and collected data from the clinical evaluations of an additional 250,000 medical cannabis patients.

Dr. Caplan is a graduate of Williams College. He completed his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, and residency in Family Medicine at the Boston Medical Center.
